Zwartkop Golf EstateGeneral Information

Zwartkop Golf Estate honours the tradition and history of the game of golf and offers golfers an unforgettable experience. The club was originally founded in 1933 by Iscor, and bought by Dale Hayes in 2001, and has subsequently broadened its membership base. The course was recently re-designed by Peter Matkovich.

Zwartkop Golf Estate is one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in the Pretoria area, with some of golf’s greatest names such as Sam Snead, Peter Thompson, Bobby Locke, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros, Lee Trevino, Nick Faldo, Ernie Els, Nick Price and Retief Goosen having graced the fairways. The course layout offers golfers the classic parkland challenge, with tree-lined fairways and the Hennops River meandering through ten of the 18 holes.

On Course
Beautiful old oak trees border the Kikuyu fairways and bent grass greens. The driving range can handle approximately 16 golfers at once, and offers target greens and bunkers, a chipping area, and main practice putting green. The course is unique in that it has five par threes and affords both men and women golfers equal tee times and membership fees.

Course Rating
Zwartkop’s 18-hole par-72 golf course was listed as one of Complete Golfers “must play” courses, and is rated in the top 100 South African courses from Golf Digest magazine. Rated par-71 from the men’s tees.
